Well I'm sure you have all heard about freak shakes by now? They seem to be taking over cafes and Instagram is jam packed with photographs of them! So what is it? A freakshake is a creamy, thick and cakey mash-up. They are massive milkshakes, piled high with cake, crazy toppings and cream. I have to admit they do look tasty, so I thought why not give it a go and make my own? I wanted to make these super simple with my toddler, so these are cheat shakes. Anyone can throw these together with a few ingredients from your local supermaket. Fear not, I have some tasty recipes for homemade freak shakes coming up next week.
The thing about out cheat shakes, are they are super simple and fast to chuck together, which is what I was aiming for with a toddler. If I was having a girls night I would go all out and make the milkshake from scratch. This chocolate perfection (above) is some shop chocolate milkshake, threw it in a cup, added whipped cream, and topped with a Oreo Doughnut. It took seconds to make, but was absolutely delicious.
I made a smaller version of this Strawberry delight milkshake for Emily, and we shared the doughnut. This is simple a strawberry milkshake, topped with whipped cream, I added some chopped strawberries on the side, and a strawberry krispie kreme. Strawberry milkshake is Emily's favourite and she loved this one.
This last one, me and Emily made for Sam. It was a chocolate orange milkshake, topped with cream and a few chocolate sprinkles with a added nutty krispie kreme.
These were super easy to make, it took me about 2 minutes to put them together, and Emily really enjoyed making them. They make the perfect naughty little treat for a family movie night, which is when we had them. Will you be making your own cheat shakes?
My blogging bestie paige and I, had the same idea for this blog post, which happens more often than not. I'm sure we are on the same brain wave, so head over to her blog, and check out hers too.
