Family Fun Day & Face Paints [Ordinary Days]

There was a family fun day being held on Saturday at our local church, which seemed like a fab event. After speaking to a few of Emily's friend's parents it turned out that quite a few of them had plans to take their kiddos along. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take my girls along and get to know a few of the other parents a little better - but also it was a great opportunity for Emily to see her friends outside of group/preschool, and in her eyes it was the best thing ever because there was a bouncy castle!

We walked up to the fun day as it is only about a 15 minute walk for us, and as soon as Emily saw the big inflatables she wanted to run ahead and go on them, If wasn't expecting to stay the whole time as I did think that the girls would get bored, but I didn't need to worry at all - they had the best time and we were there for the whole 2 and a bit hours.

Emily also got her face painted for the first ever time, normally when she asks we queue up and then halfway towards the front she changes her mind and decides that actually, she doesn't want her face painted anymore. I was really surprised when she actually went through with it though, I think she let them do it because her friends were getting their faces painted at the same time as her. Emily went for a pink cat and she looked absolutely adorable - Isabelle wasn't so keen on Emily with facepaint though.

It was lovely to see Emily play and interact with her friends, although it did make me realise just how bossy my little girl really is. She loves to be the teacher or the one in charge no matter what they are playing. Lucky for her - her friends don't seem to mind. I always knew that Emily would have no problems socialising, she has always been really confident and chatty, but actually seeing it, was really nice. It did make me realise she is growing up way faster than I would like, and she is needing her mama less and less - which does make me a little sad.

Isabelle also got to have a little go on the bouncy castle and she absolutely loved it, she was giggling and laughing the whole time, it really was the sweetest thing. She is at such a lovely age at the moment where she is enjoying playing with Emily and trying to join in with the big kids all the time. I'm sure she thinks she is way older than she is.

Asides from the face paint and the inflatables, they also had some traditional fairground rides, and cake. Lots of free cake, I actually got a piece of chocolate cake and it was delicious, I did share it with Sam though because there was no way I was going to eat lots of cake and put on the weight I have lost. Overall though we did have a lovely afternoon. I even vlogged for the first time in ages, so if you want to see that be sure to head over to my youtube channel
