I tucked Isabelle up in her pushchair, she had just had a feed so I knew that she would sleep for a good two-three hours, meaning Emily had plenty of time to play, and really enjoy herself. Something I really wanted for her as recently everything seems to be about Isabelle, obviously, she's a newborn and requires a lot more attention than Emily does. Which is fine, I honestly don't mind but I want to make sure that Emily doesn't feel left out or pushed aside, which is why this fair really appealed to me.
As we walked over to the fair she spotted the big slide, and immediately was excited, she couldn't wait to go on the slide and it was all she could talk about. Sam and I had doubts as to if she would actually be able to climb up all the stairs by herself on the inflatable slide, as she is only small and we couldn't go on with her, but I need not have been worried. She did it with ease and surprised us both, as she always does. She went on the slide about four times, and we eventually managed to convince her to try out some of the other rides.
First up she went on a little yellow train, she couldn't wait for it to start going, and the whole way around the track she was full of giggles. It was so bittersweet seeing her on some of the rides, as she didn't need an adult to go on with her, all of a sudden my little baby seemed really grown up. As soon as the ride finished she asked to go back on it again. Which of course we let her - I'm so glad for the wrist band as the train alone was £2 a go.
By the time she got onto the next ride, the wristband had paid for itself already. She picked the planes next, as soon as I saw it I knew why. She spotted that each plane has a different design on it. She made a beeline straight for the toy story one. Luckily she got there before anyone else, and she was so excited. Our little dare devil handled it so well, rather than just going round in circles it also went up and down - which at first I wasn't sure if she would enjoy - but she really did. She also managed to go on a little merry-go-round, and another huge inflatable slide, and an inflatable bouncy castle.
She then went and played on the hook-a-duck game, and won herself a bubble wand which she was delighted with. Then came the part I was dreading, it was time for us to leave, and no amount of reasoning made it right in Emily's mind. She didn't want to go home, she wanted to stay and play more. Even when we told her the man was going home and needed to close, it still wasn't good enough. She had a massive melt down and sobbed her heart out. I have never seen her throw a tantrum about going home the way she did on that day. Well, to be honest, I have never seen her throw a tantrum full stop. She isn't really a tantrum thrower, I have to say I'm quite lucky in that sence.
I actually ended up vlogging our day, which is the first time I have made a video since I found out I was pregnant with Isabelle, and I have to say I am really enjoying being back. You can head over to my YouTube channel to find the video if you want to. Don't forget to subscribe if you decide to have a little look.
