37 Weeks Pregnant [Baby Number Two]

Due date
28, June 2017

This week has been a little bit of a mixed one. I do genuinely feel like the closer we get to my due date, the more anxious and worried I get about things I can't really control. One of my main worries is something going wrong during labour, and leaving Emily. I know that she is going to be absolutely fine, she never has any problems when we leave her, but I'm still worried and left feeling guilty for leaving her, but also anxious for being away from her.
I'm also feeling a tad frustrated, I was told to take it easy, so I didn't bring on labour, the goal was always to get to 37 weeks. I got there and now she is being stubborn and doesn't want to come. It is typical really isn't it. We have tried it all, the pineapple, spicy food and lots of walking, but so far nothing. I know that she will come when she is ready, but I just kind of want to get it over with - wouldn't it be fab if you could predict these things! I'm hoping that once she is here my mood settles down again rather than me feeling like its spinning again like it did with Emily.

I have been having lots of pain and discomfort in my back, I also have lots of pressure down below but that doesn't seem to be leading to anything. The midwife keeps telling me that she is head down and she is ready to go but who knows how long that will take, if she is anything like her sister she will be late and stubborn! I also have really bad indigestion which is making my sickness worse, I found that Rennie's give me some kind of relief but it doesn't seem to last very long.

I still can't sleep. I'm sure I have wrote this pretty much every week since I started my pregnancy updates, but it's true. I get about 3-6 hours sleep a night and that is it. I either can't fall asleep, or I fall asleep and Emily wakes me then I can't get back off again. I can't get comfortable in bed anymore, even my pregnancy pillow (which has been a lifesaver while I've been pregnant) hasn't been that much relief. Which is frustrating.

Baby girl has been very active up until this point, Emily's movements did begin to slow down slightly at this point - so we will see if that happens again. If I'm a little worried about her, Emily usually pokes my bump or talks to it and gets a response straight away, they have such a strong bond already.

Food cravings
As I mentioned previously the indigestion is currently kicking my bum and that in turn is triggering my sickness - which sucks! However I have been craving ice pops and lots of them. I guess the hot weather isn't helping either but somehow I managed to eat a box of ice pops in two days, at least they are sugar free.

Highlight of the week
We put baby girl's car seat into the car this week, we wanted to give Emily the chance to get used to it being in the back with her, but also because she has had to move from the passengers side to the drivers side because Sam is so tall, the babies car seat won't fit behind him. I did think that Emily would be a little upset by it all, but she has taken it all in her stride, she is so excited to be sitting behind Sam, as she can now see him in the mirror.

We were kindly sent the Joie I-Gemm and isofix bar to review (there will be a full review live when she is here), and I have to say based on first impressions I absolutely love it. It is in the colour pavement, which is gorgeous and has so many features I really like. Such as the exclusive Tri-Protect headrest, which offers security in the form of three intentional layers of protection inside the side wings. More about that in my review coming soon though! I just need to get her a little toy to hang on the handle of the car seat to keep her occupied on our car journeys.

Looking forward to
Meeting our baby girl!

Baby Development
37 WeeksAll your baby's body systems are developed and she is waiting to be born.

  1. I love the grey print of the car seat I can't wait to read the full review.
Hopefully little lady will be here soon!

  2. Lovely update, it won't be long until you're meeting your other baby girl! And I love the colour of the car seat x

  3. Oh poor you being so heavily pregnant in all the heat we've had recently! Hopefully she'll arrive soon for you. It's odd with the second one, I was so emotional in labour and wanting my eldest with me, but the newborn days were a lot easier being more confident and having a vague idea of what I was doing with my second ha!

    Stevie x
