Emily and I were recently challenged by Num Noms to come up
with a Num Nom inspired recipe. Emily is a big fan of Num Noms, and I have
previously featured them on our blog. I’m not sure what it is about these food
scented toys that she loves, but if she is happy, so am I. To create your own
flavour fusion, you simply mix a Num and a Nom to make a recipe.
Me and Emily decided to make some orange flavoured cupcakes
based on the Tropi-cali pop Num from the Freezie pops pack. Emily helped me
with the baking, even though she ate most of the cake batter. She also helped me
make the butter cream icing and I piped it onto the cakes. I was impressed with
how they turned out and they tasted amazing!
Here is how to make your own Tropi-cali pop cupcakes.
Ingredients
175g/6oz butter (at room temperature)
175g/6oz caster sugar
175g/6oz self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 large eggs
How to make them?
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°
- Cream the butter and sugar until it’s a smooth mixture.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and blend. - Finally sift
the flour and baking powder into the mixture. Try not to over mix the mixture,
the less you mix it the fluffier the cupcakes will be. - Finally divide the
mixture into the cupcake cases before baking in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
What do you think? Will you be recreating our recipe?
- I was sent the products for the purpose of the review, however all opinions are my own.
