Toddler Gift Guide

How is it possible that my little girl is two on Monday! I honestly just cannot get my head around the fact she is turning two! This year Emily has actually been harder to buy for than she was last year. Although she now has a preference on what kind of toys she likes, that changes weekly. Also her most played with item is her kitchen, and she has so many accessories for it, that she can play with it for hours and there is pretty much nothing additional I can buy her for it. I am also constantly getting asked by family members what to get for her, so I figured I would put together a little gift guide, to show you what I have brought, or am thinking of getting for her.

Emily’s friend actually has some of these already, and every time we go over to her house Emily wants to play with them. Magformers are constructions sets, each set contains various pieces in a simple geometric shape, such as triangles, squares, rhomboids and many other shapes that can easily connect using the built in magnets. Emily was kindly sent the Magformers inspire 30 set, which I know she is going to love. The inspire set is designed with girls in mine, and comes in pastel colours such as pink, sky blue and of course purple – Emily’s favourite colour. This pack contains squares and triangles, and I cannot wait to see what she creates!

Last year we got Emily a personalised in the night garden book for her birthday, and we were able to add a cute message into the book for her to keep. I wanted to get her another book this year, as she adores her books and I think they just make the loveliest keepsakes. We decided to go with the ‘lost my name’ storybook, and I am so glad we did. It is absolutely beautiful. Each child’s adventure is based on their name, making the book uniquely theirs. It has hand-drawn illustrations, which bring the book to life. The best thing about the book is you make it yourself. The book doesn’t start without you picking various items along the way to make it unique. The story is beautifully written and I know it will be the perfect bedtime story for Emily.

At Christmas, Emily received a WOW toys playset. It has been one of her most loved toys, and also one of my favourite things she plays with. WOW toys create battery free, high-quality, British designed, developmental toys. They are honestly built too last, and can handle a bashing about from a toddler. Emily was lucky enough to be sent the London range, and she has been loving it so far. The London range consists of the London bus, Leo. Which is a shape sorting red bus. London taxi Ted, and his two passengers, and the Palace Guards figure set. We have only given her the Taxi so far as we didn’t want to overwhelm her, and she has really enjoyed playing with it. She even took it too nanny’s house which means it is a well-loved toy!

You might have heard me mention Miles Kelly before, Emily has quite a few of their books, and I adore them. The illustrations are beautiful, and the stories are really well written. They recently brought out a sticker playbook. I have been looking for a reusable sticker story boo for quite some time as I used to have one when I was younger, and loved it. The Miles Kelly ones, are fold-out rhyming playbooks, which feature a familiar rhyme to sing. They have stickers to add and activities to try. There is 50 reusable vinyl sticker to use, and the books have bright, engaging illustrations. I love that you are able to use this book time and time again unlike most sticker books that get thrown away after one use. They have three different titles, Old Macdonald had a farm, Spaceship, and Cinderella. I know that Cinderella will be a firm favourite of Emily’s as she already has the story book.

One of Emily’s favourite programs to watch is Twirlywoos. She loves to dance along, and giggles throughout the episode. Her favourite character in the show is Peekaboo, which is based on a sea urchin. We found a little Dance-Along Peekaboo and knew Emily would love it. You simple press Peekaboo’s head to see him spin and dance across any smooth surface whilst playing the iconic Twirlywoos theme tune. Peekaboo also makes cute warbling sounds. Emily has had hours of fun playing with Peekaboo, and it is so cute to see her dancing around and spinning in circles just like Peekaboo!

I saw this playfoam on imagido a while back, and knew it was right up Emily’s street. She loves sand, and anything messy she can play with, so I knew this would be no different. Playfoam provides a mess-free creative play for children. The great thing about playfoam as it won’t stick go anything apart from itself, you can mould it into whatever shape you wish, and it will never stick to carpet or your hands. It also never dries out, meaning it can be used over and over again.

Num Noms Playset
Emily loves these Numnoms, she has been collecting various different ones, and whenever we are at the supermarket, we treat her to a mystery pot. The numnoms playsets make the perfect birthday gift, this one is perfect. You can make your own flavoured lip gloss with this delicious Num Noms playset. Simply pick your own flavours, mix in sprinkles, blend together and swirl out the lip gloss into a sundae container just like you would a ice cream. The playset also comes with a special addition Num Nom, so it really does make the perfect gift for a collector.
