Letters #2

Dear, Our gorgeous baby
Today was such a exciting day, one both me and your daddy had been waiting for for ages. Everything went ok at your 12 week scan, which was definately a possitive thing. We just wanted to know if you were a little girl or a little boy. Obviously it's always been important to know if your ok, but deep down i'm secretly hoping your a little girl. I'm currently out numbered by boys, I'm more attracted to girls clothes then boys. I also have a feeling your going to be a little girl.

When we went to our 12 week scan, the sonographer wasn't very nice to us, she rushed us through, took your measurements, and that was it. I didn't even get a proper look at you, the picture she gave us was all blured too. We made the decision to go for a private Gender scan, because i was so upset with the 12 week scan, i just wanted to see you, being pregnant still didn't feel very real to me if i'm honest.

So your daddy and me decided too book a private scan, a gender scan by babybond. I'm so glad that we did. The lady who did the scan was called Jill. She genuinely cared about you, she didn't rush us, I think we were in there staring at the screen for a good 20-30 minutes. The other really positive and good thing was she made sure your daddy was involved in the scan.

I was 17 weeks along when we had our scan, your heartbeat was so fast, honestly i'm convinced it sounds like racing horses, The lady told me before the scan to go for a walk and drink some fizzy drinks. Not that I needed to make you any more hyperactive then you already were, I could feel you moving around. When the lady started scanning I could see you spinning and doing roley poleys. It was so cute! At one point you were on your head.

Then came the moment of truth, to determine the sex of the baby, Jill had to get a view of the baby's bottom. Once she did, I honestly didn't have a clue what to look for, she handed your Dad a sheet of paper, It had a view of both a little girls bottom and a little boys bottom. She then turned to your Dad and said, there you can see both, what do you think your having? I knew just by looking at his face you were a little girl, he had a massive grin on his face. He guessed girl, and she told us that you were in fact a little girl.

This is my favourite picture - your little feet.

She gave us plenty of pictures, I think she took 11 in total. I was so amazed, looking at those little pictures, they were so much clearer then any other ones we have ever seen. We also saw you in 4D. Seeing your little face, all your features developing. It's something I will never ever forget. I hope if you get the opportunity you'll look back at this, and those pictures, If you do I bet your just as amazed as we were.

Love, your mummy. x

  2. Congratulations! Sorry to hear your 12 week scan didn't go as hoped, but I'm so pleased you had a good experience with this scan. It just goes to show how much of a lottery is it really - we've had absolutely lovely sonographers both times and both our 12 and 20 week scans with this current pregnancy were really special. The 4D imagery is pretty amazing though isn't it? How incredible to be able to see your baby girl's features so clearly developing. Thank you for linking up to the #BlogBumpClub! x
