Christmas Eve Basket

Every year I put together a christmas eve box for Emily, this year was no different aside from the fact I had to make one for Isabelle too - which was extremely fun, but a little more difficult for Isabelle as there were lots of things that wern't age appropriate for isabelle that I would have put in Emily's, and also she can't have the same sweet treats as Emily as she is dairy free (no problem I can find dairy free treats, but she isn't quite old enough for them at the moment anyway).

Anyway, I'm rambling, back to there boxes. I bought two large boxes from paperchase, they are the perfect size to fit in some pyjamas and some treats. I hate the idea of getting really big boxes and then filling them for the sake of filling the space. I chose some beautiful matching pyjamas for the girls from Next, unfortunately I got them in a smaller size for Isabelle, and when she came to wear them I realised she'd need the next size up by which point Next had sold out - safe to say I was pretty upset about them not having matching haha. I did, however, find a lovely my first Christmas sleepsuit in Tesco which was red so kind of matched. Well, it didn't match at all but you win some you lose some.

I'll start with Emily's box, as hers had lots more in than Isabelle's purely down to age and the fact Isabelle didn't need anything, and she couldn't have most the items I contained in Emily's box. Every year I add a new book, Emily's box contained 'The Christmas Elfie contest'. As soon as I saw this book I knew it would be perfect for Emily, she is obsessed with using my phone to take 'selfies' of her and Isabelle. I then added a colouring book and little activity book - just something to keep her occupied on Christmas eve while I cooked dinner. She also had a little kinder mini mix as a treat which its filled with three different chocolate bars, her next pyjamas and a Sylvanian families baby sleigh ride set. If you are a regular reader you will know that Emily is a really big fan of Sylvanians and has quite the collection now. I knew that she would love the sleigh ride set, and she was lucky enough to be sent it. I also added some wooden paint your own tree decorations and a Tsum Tsum blind bag, because what child doesn't love a surprise bag.

The last thing in Emily's box is actually in Isabelle's too as they both have exactly the same set to avoid arguments and it is these gorgeous little Hallmark itty bitty's. It's Mickey Mouse as Santa, and Minnie Mouse as Mrs Claus. Isabelle is absolutely obsessed with the mickey mouse one and hasn't stopped playing with it since we gave it to her.

Onto Isabelle's box, like I said there isn't much in hers compared to Emily but she loved it all the same, and there is plenty of time to make up for it next year right? Isabelle loves Lamaze toys, and anything that makes a noise, so I knew that she would love this little chiming bunny. It is the perfect size for her to hold in her hand, and I know that she will get so much use out of it. I also added her little my first Christmas sleepsuit, and a that's not my Santa book. I'm a big fan of these books and Emily still enjoys reading them now, so I know that Isabelle will love them just as much, while we do have quite the collection I did want to add a few to the collection that was brought for Isabelle rather than her having just hand-me-downs.

Next year I think I'm going to do more of a joint/family style Christmas eve box, but who know's, maybe I will change my mind by them. I'd love to know if you put together a Christmas eve box for your child, and what you include?
