Dash Cam Wish List

With Christmas coming up, I have been looking for presents for Sam, now he is one of the hardest people in my life to buy for, mainly because he already has everything he could possibly want. Sam is the type of person to just go out and buy whatever he wants rather than thinking of asking someone. The one thing he has been talking about is replacing his dash cam in his car.

We spent ages trawling reviews of various different dash cams for Sam before finally settling on the one that we currently have, although he has now had it for well over a year, it isn't all that great. So now we are looking at replacing it. The problem is I hate paying full price for anything. If I can hold out for a sale - I will, or even if I can just find a good voucher code. I managed to track down a few good Groupon discount codes for Halfords on VoucherSlug. VoucherSlug is a small team of deal finders, voucher hunters and general money saving guru's based in Europe. Their task is to save people money. I have actually managed to find a 20% off voucher, which is fab, as that is a good chunk of money saved.

Sam has pointed me in the direction of a few dash cams that he has considered and I'm thinking that the best choice would be the Nextbase 512GW which is on a really good deal, but I thought that I would ask her if any of my readers had any recommendations before I went and bought a new one for Christmas. As you can see from the picture above my shortlist is the Nextbase 512GW, and the Garmin dash cam 55. I'd love to hear if you have either of those or think that another may be better.

The only specific things that Sam has mentioned is the fitting to the windscreen. He would rather a dash cam that fits with a suction cup fitting rather than an adhesive fix. Also, I have been told to look at how good the video quality is - Obviously, and how much is in the field of vision. This is literally the last thing on my Christmas list, and then I am all done!

I am a little swayed towards the nextbase, as Halford's do a really handle bundle which includes a handy case for the camera and a memory card, or maybe I will just chicken out altogether and wait for Christmas to pass so he can pick one in person.
