Places We Would Love To Visit [Bucket List]

My girls haven't been abroad before, I want them to be old enough to appreciate and remember a holiday abroad, plus there are so many places in the UK to visit that we just haven't felt the need to venture abroad yet. I personally am not a fan of the warmer weather, I much prefer the cold but dry days - luckily for me, Sam is the same.

We have started to look at a holiday abroad recently, as Emily really wants to go on an aeroplane, and she loves being in the sea. We figured it would be better to venture abroad and see how it goes - if we think that the girls are not old enough or don't enjoy it then we won't go again for another couple of years, but we won't know until we try right?

With that in mind, we have been looking at apartments and holiday rentals. We are leaning more towards an apartment or villa, just because I prefer to have my own space and that seems to appeal to me more. I thought that I would share with you a bucket list of a few places we would love to visit - obviously we have lots more than this on our bucket list, but it would take me forever to write them all down!

Majorca, Spain
This is somewhere Sam has visited before, I have been to a few places in Spain, but never Majorca. It is known for some of the nicest beaches in Spain - my nan is currently there and I'm so jealous of the pictures she has been sending me, it looks beautiful. The southeast and southwest coast have sweeping sandy bays that catch the day's sun making it perfect for sunbathing and sandcastle building. Majorca is more than just a seaside holiday though, Its the home to the impressive Roman gothic cathedral which is one of Europes largest, higher than the nave in Notre Dame in Paris!

My nan actually told me about a website called Clickstay, which offers over 32,000 villas, apartments and holiday rentals worldwide. It's where she first got the idea to travel to Majorca from, and after having a look at some of the villa's I'm sold and really want to go there - it looks so peaceful.

Sicily, Italy
Sicily is somewhere I have always wanted to visit, it is an island full of traditional italian charms. There are mountains to discover, and caves to explore. I also have heard (from friends who have visited) that Sicily is home to the best traditional pizzerias - that alone is enough to make me want to visit!

Orlando, USA
Orlando is like the dream, the one place that has been on the top of my bucket list since I was a child, and is a place I really want to take my girls. Orlando has so much to offer, from amazing sunshine to exciting days out at theme parks, and water parks. Home to more than a dozen theme parks, Orlando is the home of childhood magic. Disney's first park opened in 1971 and has now expanded to four parks, including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. It's actually somewhere Emily really wants to visit too - she has been watching holiday vlogs, and videos of parades at Disney, Orlando on her iPad. I honestly can't believe how amazing it looks there.

Myself and Sam are big Harry Potter fans, so we would love to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is at Universal studios. It apparently brings the films to life, a visitors can ride on the hogwarts express - which is something I would love to do!

Thailand
The home to stunning beaches, beautiful sights and incredible food - who wouldn't want to visit Thailand? It is somewhere I have always been drawn to and it has been on my list since I was about 10 years old.

I'm sure as Sam and I start looking into places to visit we will be adding more places to our bucket list. I would love to hear if you have any recommendations on where to visit with two under 5, or even the place you would just love to go!

  1. I'd love to visit these places too, especially Orlando! We're also waiting a few years to take the girls abroad, so they will hopefully appreciate it more! x
