Sleepyhead Deluxe [Review]

When I was pregnant with Isabelle, there were lots of different products that caught my attention, products that I wish I had when Emily was a baby - one of those being the Sleepyhead Deluxe. When Emily was a baby she really suffered from silent reflux, and due to that she always wanted to be held or be in our bed with us. I was determined that this time around that wouldn't be the case, and I wouldn't let Isabelle creep into our bed with us, or hold her all the time, after all, I would have both the girls by myself when Sam went back to work - so I needed to be able to put Isabelle down while I played with Emily. As I didn't want Emily to feel pushed out. So, I knew that a bedside crib was what I wanted with the Sleepyhead inside.

The Sleepyhead is the ultimate pod for your baby from ages 0-8 months. The pod is multifunctional, multitasking and offers a safe and comfy spot that lets your baby sleep, rest, co-sleep, lounge, play, cuddle, do tummy time - basically anything you may need it to do.

The sleep pod offers your baby a sense of security while they sleep which allows them to feel as if they are still in the womb, or better yet snuggled in their parent's arms. It is lightweight and portable, I was really impressed that it was delivered in a bag, with handles. I have used the bag many times to take the Sleepyhead to my in-laws. It is really easy to just pop the pod in the bag and take it with you. The pod itself has handles on the side, making it easy to move from room to room.

All of the materials used are breathable, washable, and hypoallergenic. I love the fact you can pop the covers in the wash if something gets spilt on it or your baby is sick on it, after all these things always seem to happen when you have a baby. Isabelle is two weeks old and I can honestly say our cover for the Sleepyhead has been through the wash 3 or 4 times. The Sleepyhead offers air-permeability, all the filling materials are sourced from world-leading suppliers with breathable, hygienic and non-toxic properties.

Isabelle sleeps in her Chicco Next 2 Me and the Sleepyhead fits perfectly inside of it. I love that I can have the side of the crib down, and still be able to easily get Isabelle out during the night for a feed. Also, the padding around the Sleepyhead acts as a rolling barrier, I know that she isn't going to roll out of her crib and into our bed (obviously this won't happen until she is bigger, she's currently 2 weeks old), so it gives me peace of mind that I am not going to squish her.

I have been using the Sleepyhead since Isabelle was born, and honestly, I love it. She loves being snug in there, and even sleeps through the night - which is brilliant for a newborn. I also purchased the additional toy arch, and little animal toys (which attach to the arch). Isabelle has loved laying in the Sleepyhead, looking up at the toys, they keep her engaged and entertained while she has a little rest in her pod. As she gets older I am sure she is going to love reaching up for the toys and playing with them. I love that they are a crinkly texture, they look adorable, and the black and white toys promote sensory development.

You can buy additional covers for the Sleepyhead, so if you want to change things up, buy a pretty coloured one you can simply order a new cover. I would really recommend the Sleepyhead to any parents to be, pop it on your wishlist, you never know someone might buy it for you.

The RRP for the Sleepyhead Deluxe is £110, and you can buy it from many parent and child retailers, including John Lewis.

I was sent this product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

  2. Im still actually considering the grande for Arthur who is 2, but I've been looking again at this for our new baby (due in a week)...I know there are lots of alternatives on the market for the younger age range though and not really sure where to prioritise. Looks fab though and I had no idea you could have the toys hanging above, how fab x

  5. This is something I've always wanted to get but the price put me off! I think next time I definitely will because Lily has been such a nightmare to get comfy at night and I think something like this would have really helped! X

  6. I so wish this had been around when my two were small. They probably were but they weren't 'in' then. It would have been a life saver from what I have been told and from the info in your post x

  7. Everyone recommends this so much, I really wish I had one when bead was younger as he was such a clingy baby and barely settled on his own, bedtimes were impossible & we just ended up in bed together. It's definitely on my list for when we have more children xx
