Lottie Dolls [Review + Giveaway]

Raising girls is no easy task, there is so much media pressure on girls, from a young age to look a certain way. I want to raise my girls to feel happy and content in their own skins, to be confident in the body that they have. Children learn a lot through play, and having the right kind of toys, to promote positive play is important. That is where Lottie Dolls comes in. They have a vision and it is to empower children to be themselves! They aim to encourage children to embrace and accept individuality, enjoy their childhood to the fullest and embark on a fun and meaningful adventures.

Unlike other dolls, Lottie and Finn are based on characters that are nine years old. The dolls are relatable, age-appropriate and fun dolls, many of the dolls and accessories from the collection have been inspired by real children. The dolls have no makeup, no heels, and no fancy dresses. They wear comfortable, colourful clothing. We were recently given the opportunity to review two Lottie dolls and an accessory, with so many dolls to choose from I knew it would be a hard decision to make. So naturally, I let Emily pick. She decided to go for Forest Friends Lottie, and Branksea Festival Lottie. She also picked Sirius The Welsh Mountain Pony as her accessory.

When the dolls arrived, Emily was so excited to open them. They were beautifully presented, in a colourful little gift box. They also had the 'positive role model' medal. Emily couldn't wait to open her Forest Friends Lottie, once I removed her from the box, she couldn't wait to start playing with them. She was absolutely thrilled that the Forest Friends Lottie had red hair like she does. We really have struggled to find a red haired doll for Emily in the past.

Forest friends Lottie is dressed in a delightful green and lilac fairy-inspired costume. She has a gorgeous petal tutu skirt and little purple bow in her hair - which Emily adores. She also has tiny little gold ballet shoes which Emily had lots of fun taking off and putting back on again. Emily said that the Forest friends Lottie is her favourite because she has red hair like Emily, I always struggle to find red headed dolls, so it was really refreshing to see one in the Lottie doll collection.

Branksea festival Lottie has polka dot wellies, striped leggings and a fur waistcoat. Emily loves the fact that she comes with an orange bag. Lottie looks like she is festival ready, and looking forward to the live music, face painting, storytelling and everything else that comes with a festival. Emily loves to use her to role play and pretends to make her jump in wellies.

The last toy Emily received was Sirius the pony. Sirius is a welsh mountain pony, he wears a saddle, bridle and stirrups and numnah (a saddle pad that acts as a protective cushion between the pony and the saddle). Emily loves to make the dolls ride the pony.

Overall I am really impressed with the Lottie dolls, they are the perfect size for Emily's age group and she loves playing with them. They help her to express how she is feeling through play, and often I have sat and played with them, with her. I love what the brand stands for, and I think it is brilliant that there is a brand that really has thought about what little girls need. It is so refreshing to see a brand that is sending out such a positive message, even if the children don't notice it. Emily now has her eye on a few other dolls, and I have purchased her a two more, and an accessory pack for her birthday.
