Lottie Dolls [Review + Giveaway]

Raising girls is no easy task, there is so much media pressure on girls, from a young age to look a certain way. I want to raise my girls to feel happy and content in their own skins, to be confident in the body that they have. Children learn a lot through play, and having the right kind of toys, to promote positive play is important. That is where Lottie Dolls comes in. They have a vision and it is to empower children to be themselves! They aim to encourage children to embrace and accept individuality, enjoy their childhood to the fullest and embark on a fun and meaningful adventures.

Bibetta Star Changing Mat [Review]

When the opportunity to try the Bibetta star changing mat arised, I jumped at the chance. I have a padded changing mat at home, but needed one for when we are out and about - so this seemed like the perfect changing mat to do just that. I also like that you can store a couple of nappies and a small pack of wipes in the little pocket.

Sleepyhead Deluxe [Review]

When I was pregnant with Isabelle, there were lots of different products that caught my attention, products that I wish I had when Emily was a baby - one of those being the Sleepyhead Deluxe. When Emily was a baby she really suffered from silent reflux, and due to that she always wanted to be held or be in our bed with us. I was determined that this time around that wouldn't be the case, and I wouldn't let Isabelle creep into our bed with us, or hold her all the time, after all, I would have both the girls by myself when Sam went back to work - so I needed to be able to put Isabelle down while I played with Emily. As I didn't want Emily to feel pushed out. So, I knew that a bedside crib was what I wanted with the Sleepyhead inside.

Giving A More Meaningful Gift

Gift giving is something that everyone I know does, no matter what the occasion - Birthday, Christmas, or even a new baby. While it is lovely to receive a gift, sometimes I think that the money could be used somewhere else in the world. There are a lot of countries and people who need it more, and I think as a parent it is so important to teach Emily to give back. Last year for her birthday, we let her adopt an animal. She is a massive animal lover, and it is something that she was really interested in. She loves the fact she got a little pack telling her all about her animal, and I like knowing that one day when she is bigger we will be able to tell her the importance of giving back, and the difference she made by adopting that animal.

Vionic Footwear [Review]

When you're pregnant and carrying lots of extra weight, the most important thing is having something comfortable on your feet. During both my pregnancies with Emily and Isabelle, I had such swollen feet all the time, and no matter how much time I spent keeping my feet elevated they wouldn't go down. As you can imagine chasing a toddler around all day on swollen feet was no fun.

Adjusting To Two

I had all these visions of how life with two children would be, the way we would adjust and what we would do as a family. I really wanted to venture out while Sam was on paternity leave, and do something as a family of four. After days, weeks and months of being stuck indoors unable to go out due to the horrible sickness I was suffering with during pregnancy- It's safe to say that I'm sick of the sight of our four walls. The truth is none of that has happened.

Money Saving Tips With A New Baby

Babies are expensive, more expensive than most realise at first. So I have put together a few money saving tips in case you are worried about money - because let's be honest the last thing you want to be worried about is money during the first few months of your newborn's life, you want to be enjoying that squidgy little newborn.

Diono Quantum [Review]

We were recently given the opportunity to review the Diono Quantum, and we couldn't be more excited about it. Encase you haven't heard, the Diono Quantum is a new travel system, which has been inspired by parents and designed with a little bit of everyday magic. Keeping in mind that it is the little things that make a big difference, Diono engineered a clever design feature to keep baby safe, secure and protected, meaning parents can relax and enjoy the everyday moments.

Ewan The Dream Sheep [Review]

We were recently sent Ewan the dream sheep to test out. I have heard lots about Ewan and the magic he creates - managing to send babies and toddlers off to sleep, so I was expecting great things. I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Isabelle has been fussing quite a lot at night time since we brought her home from the hospital, I'm putting it down to the fact that our home is so quiet during the night, there is literally no sound what so ever. Since we have been using Ewan she has drifted off to sleep within minutes.

Welcome To The World Isabelle [The Ordinary Days]

On Friday I was booked in for an induction, (due to the fact I was 41 weeks and 2 days pregnant) something that I hadn't shared with anyone else, not even family. Purely because I didn't want to be laying in a hospital bed waiting for something to happen, with all the added pressure of knowing that everyone was waiting to hear if our baby had been born. I was also really anxious about leaving Emily, although I know that she was with one of the people I trust the most. Emily was also super excited to be spending the day with her auntie Toni and meeting her baby sister - so she was not fussed about us leaving at all. I took one last bump photograph while I was explaining to Emily what was going on, after explaining that we were going to get her baby sissy, she gave my bump a kiss and said 'see you soon sissy'. The last thing Emily said to us as we were heading out the door was 'bye family'. I honestly think I was more bothered about leaving her than she was bothered about us going.

Birthday Wishlist

I'm not really a big fan of my birthday, I never really have been. I still can't believe that this year I'm turning 25! I honestly forget how old I am, I think once you have children, you concentrate so much on their birthday's and how old they are going to be - you don't give yourself a second thought. While there isn't anything I particularly want for my birthday, I put together a little wishlist of things that would be nice, I will settle for a pizza and a day of not feeling and being sick - so glad pregnancy is almost over! Although some of the things I put on this mini-list, I'm still not 100% sure if I actually need - I thought that I would share it with you anyway.

40 Weeks Pregnant [Baby Number 2]

Mood
This week has been a bag of mixed emotions. I turned 40 weeks, something I never thought would happen, especially with all the false starts and preterm labour problems. Another part of me is kind of relieved that we made it this far, it's given our baby girl extra time to grow - god knows I carry around a great deal of mum guilt for the fact I lost 3.5 stone during this pregnancy which had a knock on effect on her growth. Despite the terribly hot weather (I may be a summer baby, but I'm definitely not a fan of the heat) has been making me feel sick and be sick, I have been keeping to the recommended high-calorie diet, and trying to give her that little extra push to gain weight.

Summer Bucket List [2017]

Every year, we put together a little bucket list. Things that we want to do over the summer. I often find myself having great ideas or big plans, and then forgetting them - meaning we never actually do any of the things we wanted to! This summer we are expecting a new addition, and we have a staycation booked for September, so rather than focusing on expensive days out, we are focusing on the little things. I thought I would share my summer bucket list with you, in case you wanted some fun ideas of things to do!

A Letter To My Unborn Baby Girl [Overdue]

I can't believe that I reached my due date, and then went over it. I just want to meet you baby girl but it seems like you have other plans. You clearly did not want to be born in June and are keeping us waiting, I often wonder if you have a date in mind.

I get that it must be very comfortable in there, as you are showing no signs of coming anytime soon. I've had pains, and contractions and false starts for weeks. I'm tired from the sickness, the pelvic pain and the tiredness - but I know as soon as we get to meet you, hold you in our arms it will be worth it, just like waiting for your sister was.

Siblings [June 2017]

In a few short days Emily will become a big sister, something that I have often spoken about on my blog. I am excited for her, to have a little play mate and a best friend growing up. I hope that she will have an amazing sibling relationship and that they will always look out for one and another - I also know that there is going to be lots of bumps and brusies on the way through. Raising two girls is not going to be easy, especially when they get to their teenage years.
