Giving Our Bedroom A Makeover

As you may know if you are a regular reader, we recently re-decorated the girls bedroom, and brought Emily bunk beds as she really did need a new bed. There bedroom has now become my favourite room in our house and has inspired me to give our bedroom a little make over. Our bedroom is the biggest, and most unloved. When we first moved in it became a dumping ground for all the unopened boxes and things we needed to sort through, and to be honest it never really has got any better. It needs a fresh coat of paint, and a desperate de-cluttering. As we speak it is currently full of baby essentials that we need but haven't found a home for yet as our baby girl hasn't made an appearance.

We also really need a new bed, I have been wanting a french style bed for a while now, with a beautiful headboard, but I never really found one I loved (until recently). The problem is, I wanted a new one that doesn't have a foot board. As it isn't a option for us, Sam is so tall the foot board would literally get in his way and drive him crazy - I'm speaking from experience of listening to him moan about the old foot board on my old bed. I recently stumbled upon Crown French Furniture, and found the most beautiful elegant bed, which comes in a antique white finish, with beautiful carving details and button upholstered headboard, which can be upholstered in your own fabric choice for no extra cost.

I have really fallen in love with this bed, and I doubt there will be any other that comes close, now that I have found this one. I also want to replace our chest of draws with something a little bigger, and more practical. After having a look around I think I will probably go with the matching bedside tablet and chest of draws, as they are just as beautiful as the bed, and I love that it all matches.

I also have my eye on this beautiful white wicker heart mirror, which would look perfect above the bed, and the matching white heart bedside table lamps. The last thing I have my eye on is this grey and white floral bedding - it has been on my to buy list for quite a while, but I just haven't got around to it as we have been doing the girls bedroom.

I know that this project is going to be fairly expensive because we want to replace our bed, but it will be completely worth it once it is all done and finished. I would love to hear what you think of the bits I have picked out, and if you know any interior blogs or sites where I could find some more inspiration from?
