Wicked Uncle Review

Everybody loves to receive a gift, right? I am one of the first ones to have a baby out of my group of friends, and I always get the dreaded question come Emily's birthday, or Christmas. what can we get Emily? While it is lovely that people are thoughtful enough to think about Emily, and actually want to get her a gift, I end up running out of ideas fast. We were approached by Wicked Uncle to review there website.

Wicked Uncle is a online toy store, that stocks a variety of toys for various different age children. It makes the whole process of buying toys easier. With its helpful search system, you are able to choose the gender, age and interest of the child you are buying for. This makes the whole process of finding the perfect toy stress free. The website is extremely user friendly, even for someone who isn't great with computers - we all have one of those grandparents, right?

Wicked Uncle is different from a lot of the high street stores, because their products are very different to other toy shops. They have traditional wooden toys, and their isn't a lot of mainstream toys on there which makes a refreshing change.

In exchange for this review, Wicked Uncle provided us with £4o to pick out something for Emily. I decided to let Emily's godmother pick out something, and find out what she thought of the website. She actually picked some lovely gifts out for Emily but the one we decided to go for was actually in the boys category. Which leads me onto the gender thing, while I loved that you could pick 'girl or boy' I would have much preferred it just to be a age bracket. There was lots of items in the 'boys' section that Emily would have really enjoyed, and nothing in the girls. This doesn't mean that she wouldn't have enjoyed something from the girls section - I just mean that if it was my nan looking, she wouldn't have thought to click over to the boys section. She would have just settled for something that Emily would have liked but not loved.

We settled on the Four car transporter lorry, and Emily absolutely adores it. The American style wooden truck, with four racing cars is bold, bright and eye catching. It is very sturdy and has movable pieces. You can place two cars on the top, and two on the bottom. Emily even worked out how to move the top platform so she could drive her cars up. The lorry has movable wheels and is very easy to push along. Emily couldn't be happier with her Lorry. The transporter is going to be great for helping Emily to learn her numbers as there is a number on each car, It is also going to be great for encouraging conversations about the colours.

The ordering process was very easy, and I liked that you were able to pay with paypal as it made the whole process much simpler. The parcel was sent out by Royal Mail tracked, and it was delivered within 48 hours of me placing the order. Everything was carefully packed, so it wouldn't get damaged. Overall I was impressed with the service, and will happily place a order with Wicked Uncle in the future.

- I was sent the train set for the purpose of the review, however all opinions are my own.
