We were recently contacted by Mattel UK to see if we would like to review the new learning lights dance mat. Emily absolutely loves dancing and singing, so of course I said yes. Fisher-Price has teamed up with professional dancer and celebrity mum Kimberly Wyatt to celebrate music and dance, and encourage active play.
When it first arrived I was a little disappointed in how small the mat was, I would have liked it to be bigger. Emily wasn't at all bothered by the size of the mat though. She jumped straight on and began to have a little boogie. Emily really enjoyed the flashing lights, and was amazed when they changed into a variety of colours instead of just one.
This interactive dance mat has innovative motion sensors, to help get the most out of the mat. As Emily moved around the mat, she was rewarded with colourful lights, fun sounds, music and phrases. The learning content grows with your child, as it can teach ABC's, numbers, colours, Shapes and dance moves to help get gross motor skills rolling.
There are two ways to play, in move and play mode, or in dance and learn mode. In move and play mode, you can press any of the 4 light-up buttons on the base, to start the learning fun. It also starts the light show which surrounds the mat. In dance and learn mode, the fun phrases encourage your little one to move and dance to different areas of the mat. As they enter the correct section, they will cross motion sensors that will reward them with songs, phrases and coloured lights, for getting to the right spot.
Can your little one do the #BeatBoBoogie?
Kimberly Wyatt and her 18-month old daughter Willow will be championing the #BeatBoBoogie showing off their moves and encouraging parents and their little ones to get involved in active playtime to help children develop important social and physical skills while having fun. Parents can share their photographs, videos and comments on the Fisher-Price Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning fantastic Fisher-Price prizes for the best #BeatBoBoggies.
We will be joining in with #BeatBoBoogie - will you?
- I was sent the train set for the purpose of the review, however all opinions are my own.
