Making Mocktails

My bestie Toni came over at the weekend, and we decided to make some mocktails. There is nothing quite like a girly day, making mocktails, watching films, and having dinner. Emily really enjoyed the tasting all the different mocktails, and we are going to make some more to let her get involved. I thought I would share the recipes with you, as I had a great deal of trouble finding some alcohol free recipes online. I ended up making up our own based on the alcohol versions.

Strawberry daiquiri
Ingredients
150g Strawberries
2 teaspoons of sugar
50ml of lemonade
1 lime
Crushed ice
How to make the mocktail
Cut off the top of the strawberries and add them into a blender with the caster sugar. Add the juice from the lime, and crushed ice. Blend it together, and then pour it into a glass and add the lemonade.

Virgin Mojito
Ingredients
Crushed ice
7 mint leafs
1 and ½ tablespoons sugar
½ lemon
7up
How to make the mocktail
Squeeze the juice of the lemon into a cup, add the sugar, crushed ice and 7up. Add the mint leafs and stir. I added chopped lemon for extra taste.

Shirley Temple
Ingredients
½ cup of Orange juice½ cup of Ginger Ale
½ cup of 7up
2 tablespoons Grenadine
Crushed ice
How to make the mocktail
Fill the cup ½ way with crushed ice, all the orange juice, ginger ale, 7up, and then the grenadine. Sir and serve.

Let me know if you decide to make any of these mocktails, and what you think of them, they are perfect for a girls night in, family BBQ or a party.

  10. I love a nice mocktail. It is all too easy to drink too much, and nice to have a booze free choice.
