Caldecotte Lake

At the weekend we packed up a picnic and decided to go on a walk, as a family we love getting out the house and finding new places to explore. We originally set out to go to Willen lake, as we have been there before, but when we pulled up the lake was packed, and we couldn't get parked. So we decided to go to Caldecotte lake instead, we have had a meal their at the Caldecotte lake, but we haven't actually walked around the lake.

Caldecotte lake is a great choice for a family outing. During the lakes excavation engineers discovered the skeleton of an Icthyosaur, which was approximately 150 million years old. The Icthyosaur can now be seen at Milton Keynes Central Library. The distance around the lake is 42km, On the east shore of the south lake, is a water sports center which is home to MK sailing club, and the MK rowing club.

On the lake, their is some absolutely beautiful four-storey townhouses, and flats. They overlook the lake, and look absolutely beautiful, If I could live anywhere it would be on that lake. The lake is well known for The Caldecotte Arms, which was built in 1992. It has been constructed in the style of a tithe barn with a windmill made with authentic parts from Holland. The popular family-dining pub is on three levels and outside is a big beer garden and children's play area.

I thought I would share some of the beautiful pictures I got while we were there..

  2. Wow love your pictures! This looks amazing. We've kind of got a pond like this near us but I'm no where near as brave as you. My youngest is like a ninja with water and I'm
Too scared she'd frighten the ducks! Great post.
