Pancake Day Sensory Box

I used to love putting together sensory boxes for Emily, but lately I haven't put together as many, as we have been doing other sensory activities. Emily was happy to get stuck in as soon as she saw the flour. With it being pancake day I thought It was the perfect time to put together a new sensory box that Emily had never played with before.

What did I use?
Flour
Whisk
Wooden fried egg (from Emily's kitchen)
Wooden butter (from Emily's kitchen)
Mini Frying pan (from Emily's kitchen)
Milk (from Emily's kitchen)

I did think that Emily would make a complete mess, which doesn't bother me as it is only flour, and is easy enough to clean up. In actual fact she wasn't that intrested in making a mess. She kept the flour in the box, or in her frying pan. She really enjoyed picking up handfuls of the flour too add to the saucepan. She also enjoyed pulling the lids of the milk and adding that to the flour just like I did earlier in the day when we made pancakes together.

I think Emily had lots of fun doing this activity, and it is definitely one I will be doing again in the future, however I really need to buy a tuff spot tray.

  1. We played pancakes last year, we used pre bought pancakes and frying pans though with plates and cutlery so they made a pancake picnic! It was great fun! Emily looks like she enjoyed her messy play, the concentration on her face! :) #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

  5. I love the look of concentration on her face. What a fun idea. I like that you've added stuff from her own kitchen too.
