Mother's Day Wish List

With Mothers day approaching, I thought I would put together a little wish list or though it has made me realise just how easy I am to please. I would be happy with a card, or a picture that Emily has made for me. There are a couple of lovely things that I have seen and would be happy to receive, I'd even just be happy to recieve crafts stuff to do with Emily, but here are a few things that I do think are pretty.

Chocolate Brownie Muffins

We decided to make chocolate brownie muffins this week, and while they were super tasty - they were pretty hard to get right, and I definitely won't be making them again in a hurry! Emily certainly enjoyed eating the mixture though so that is always a plus.

Our PND Journey

I denied the fact I was pregnant until I was about 20 weeks, I wanted a baby so bad, but after three miscarriages, finally falling pregnant definitely took its tole on me. Pregnancy is, of course a emotional time. Mood swings and the general expectation that mums to be are supposed to be happy, over the moon, full of excitement and anticipation. This however wasn't me at all, I spent my days in denial, and having anxieties that things would go wrong with my pregnancy, I wouldn't be good enough, and I genuinely believed I wouldn't be good enough for E. All of these feelings, combined with the fact I had stopped taking my medication for my depression meant I got diagnosed with Antenatal depression.

Emily's 17 Month Update

Another month, and another update. I can't quite believe how fast my little girl is growing, I feel like I say this everytime I write these but it's true. Emily has turned into such a cheeky little madam, she has an answer for everything, usually, that answer is 'no'. She also has an opinion on everything, and constantly asks for 'more'.  This month the weather hasn't been the greatest, we have spent most of our time indoors which hasn't been the best. It's left me feeling frustrated with the mess, and Emily very grouchy. She is definitely an outdoors person, she loves going to the park, splashing in puddles and exploring the outdoors.

Rainbow Cookies

This week we decided to make Rainbow cookies, these have a orange taste to them, and they are super easy to make. Emily really enjoyed the dough when it was rolled into balls.

Spring/Summer Shoes Wishlist

Back in November I wrote a wish list of Emily's Autumn/Winter boots. I can't believe that Emily already needs a new pair of shoes, hers are starting to get a little tight and she has only had them for 3 months. Before I had Emily people told me how fast they grow out of clothing and I never actually took it on board. February is a weird time of the year, I don't know what type of shoes to get her, do I get her some gorgeous little pumps ready for the summer or go for some trainer/ankle boot type ones. The thing is there is just so many shops that sell cute kids shoes, It is really hard to just settle on one pair. One of my favourite shops has been Brantano, they seem to have a wider collection of cute little shoes than most shops. Did you know Brantano are currently running a buy-one-get-one-half-price deal!

Painting Hearts For Valentines Day

Yesterday, as I'm sure you all know was Valentines day. While we are not big fans of Valentines day, and usually just give each other a card, this year I thought I would take the opportunity to do lots of Valentines themed activities with Emily, as I'm sure you have seen we made Valentine Krispie HearsVanilla cupcakes, and we did Ice Sensory play. I thought why not do some painting, colouring, sticking or whatever Emily wanted to do.

Our Netflix Night In

Date nights used to be easy, me and Sam are not ones for going out and partying, so our date nights would usually be a meal out somewhere, or a cinema trip. Now that we have Emily, and my PND makes it extremely difficult for me to leave her, our date nights have turned into a rare takeaways and nights in, Don't get me wrong I much prefer it that way. When Netflix sent us a #NetflixNightIn box, I was eager to see what was inside, it seemed like the perfect thing for me and Sam considering our date nights are night ins. Inside the box was a lovely blanket (by the way it is the softest thing I have ever felt), embroider with Netflix night in, some popcorn, and teabags. Perfect in my eyes.

Weekend Tot Style #2

Leggings & Jumper: Next | Converse

This week we have a more casual outfit for you, this is actually one of my favourite outfits. I hadn't made any plans for the day, apart from a trip to the park. I think this outfit is absolutely perfect for a chilled out day at home. I absolutely love these leggings, they are a cross between leggings and jogging bottoms, they are loose, but fitted at the same time if that makes any sense? I really like the loose fit jumper, and I think the converse go perfectly with this outfit.

Valentines Vanilla Cupcakes

Cupcakes are my favourite thing to bake with Emily, and when I was pregnant it was one of the few things I could actually stomach. It seemed only fitting that we baked cupcakes for the launch of our new linky Little Appetites. With Valentines day just around the corner, it seems only right that we make Valentines day theme, I decided to make a vanilla cupcake, with buttercream icing and chocolate hearts on top.

Valentines Day Ice Sensory

As you may have gathered if you read my blog, or watch my youtube videos (Are you subscribed?) I struggle with depression. This year it has been a real struggle because the weather, whenever I get stuck indoors it makes my depression worse. Rather than feeling sorry for myself I have been putting my energy into doing craft activities with Emily. With valentines day approaching fast, I wanted to do a valentines themed activity with Emily. I decided to go with Ice cube play.

American Pancake Recipe

Yesterday was pancake day, I'm sure everyone knows this as our social media platforms become full of pancake pictures. Me and Emily made some yummy pancakes in the morning and did a lovely Sensory activity in the afternoon, so I just thought I would share our pancake recipe with you. Who knows maybe you will make them our way next time! I don't actually like 'English' pancakes, I much prefer American style pancakes. While making them the American way takes a little bit more effort than normal it is completely worth it if you ask me. Of course you can add any topping you like to your pancakes.

Pancake Day Sensory Box

I used to love putting together sensory boxes for Emily, but lately I haven't put together as many, as we have been doing other sensory activities. Emily was happy to get stuck in as soon as she saw the flour. With it being pancake day I thought It was the perfect time to put together a new sensory box that Emily had never played with before.

Valentine Krispie Hearts

With valentine's day approaching fast, I have been thinking of things to do with Emily. Although I personally don't really like Valentines day, I want to make it special for her, After all its a day to celebrate love, and there is no one I love more than my little E. These yummy Krispie heart treats are easy to make, and you can add your own twist on them. We had lots of fun making these, and although the marshmallows became pretty sticky, Emily really enjoyed herself.

Review: Photo Cushion By Snapfish

Valentines day is approaching fast, I'm sure it hasn't escaped your notice as it is really well advertised in shops and, well everywhere. I never usually bother with Valentines day, I have always seen it as a day where shops and companies can make money off selling the idea of love. I always used to think to myself, why do I need to buy someone a gift and card on this day? Surly I should tell them I love them everyday anyway. This year is different, my opinions have changed slightly. Although I do tell Sam I love him often, and I still don't feel the need to go all out and spend lots. I certainly want to get Sam a card and something small to show him I care.

Weekend Tot Style #1

Dress & Top: Tesco | Denim Jacket: M&S | Converse

I thought I would join back in with the weekend tot style, It has been a while since I wrote any kind of toddler/baby fashion posts, and I do kind of miss them. I don't know how long my return will last though as it has become increasingly hard to get a picture of Emily these days. Shes more interested in running around causing mayhem, and leaving little toy figures everywhere for me to find. Who knew princess Sofia could last a spin in the washing machine and look fine after! Phew.

I Feel Lost..

I don't know if this blog post will get published but I need to just vent. I'm really struggling at the moment, for me January is the hardest month, everything is settling down and returning to normality after Christmas. There is floods of people wherever you go because of the sales, this means I end up avoiding town, or busy places because I can't deal with crowds at the best of times. I'm usually pretty good at picking myself up, dusting myself off and getting on with it. Something about this time is different and I can't figure out what it is.

Me & Mine - January

Last year I vowed to join in with me and mine, but I didn't succeed. I think we joined in with 3 months successfully and then that was that and I forgot or got to busy. Looking back on my pictures from this year, I'm actually a little bit annoyed with myself for not taking more family pictures. I really want to make more effort to take family pictures, which is where Me and Mine comes in, it is a linky is all about capturing your whole family together in a photograph.
