Gloop Sensory Play

Have you ever heard of gloop? It is such a fun and fascinating messy play activity. Gloop is a mixture made of cornflour and water. It has a unique texture which children love to explore, as it has the properties of both liquid and a solid. I will warn you this is quite a messy activity and if you are going to recreate it I would advise putting sheets down, or newspaper. The great thing about it is it doesn't stain your clothing, it washes straight off. It is very easy to clean up.
So how do you make it?
Gloop is so easy to make, you simply put some cornflour into a bowl and add water. I would suggest 2 tablespoons of corn flour to one of water. I added paint to the mixture too, this made it more attractive to Emily.

When you pick up the gloop and squeeze it, it feels like a solid but when you relax hand it will turn to a liquid. This activity will provide hours of fun for both you and your children. The sensory play encourages children to manipulate and mould the gloop which will build up their fine motor skills and coordination. Sensory play encourages your child to use all 5 sences, toddlers and children process information through their senses. This activity also encourages language development. While you are exploring the gloop talk to your toddler about what they can feel, is it soft, squidgy, slimey, cold.

I will warn you gloop is a very addictive activity and you may even find yourself enjoying it more than your toddler.
