That's Not My Cow Review

We love Usborne books in our household, well as a matter of fact we love any books. I am a real book worm, there is nothing more calming or magical then loosing myself in a book, I find it theroputic, and relaxing. I understand the importance of reading, I want Emily to love reading, and not feel like it is a chore. Babies are like sponges, get them into books and you'll help them for life, I hope that Emily will always have a love and a passion for reading, she certainly does at the moment.

Emily absolutely loves Usborne 'that's not my..' touchy feely books by Fiona watt. Emily is building quite the little collection, her favourite being 'that's not my baby' which was actually the first book we ever brought for her. I purchased the book for Emily when she was about 2-3 months old, I always read her bedtime stories, and before she goes down for her afternoon nap I read her a couple of stories so that she will calm down. I used to read her the story and then stroke her finger over the different textures and she loved it. She would giggle to herself and generally enjoy listening to the story. In my opinion they are the perfect books to start a child's library, they get them interested in books, and hopefully a love for reading. The books are bright and colourful which is definitely a must for me. The books are the perfect size for little hands to hold and touch, the chunky board books are strong enough to withstand the inevitable page corner chewing, and they are also wipe clean.

The story starts on the front cover which I think is a brilliant way because it grabs the intrest of your little one. Well it does for Emily, she always picks her touchy feely books over her others, and I often find her sitting there stroking it. Each page in the book is a double page, and it has a different texture throughout the book. This helps with sensory development. The text is big, clear and simple. Babies and toddlers will love the repetitive phrases, which will help with their speech and language skills, as they are brilliant for encouraging new words and phrases.

We were recently send the new Usborne title 'thats not my cow'. Emily has loved this book just as much as her others, She has loved turning the pages independently, and often picks this book out of her collection, and brings it to me. Just like all of the other books in the range, it is bright and bold. If your little one is a little older they can also look for the little white mouse throughout the book. I would definitely recommend the 'thats not my..' books to my friends and family.

*I wasn't paid for this post. I received the item for the review purposes. However all opinions are completely my own.*
