Weaning Diaries: Breakfast with Organix

Weaning with Emily has always been so much fun. Although it didn't start the way I wanted it to. It started a lot earlier than I expected or was prepared to. With Emily constantly screaming in pain due to her reflux, something had to give, we decided to wean Emily early. It was the thing that helped out, it settled her reflux and I have never looked back or doubted that. We started weaning Emily on Organix porridge, something Emily still loves to this day. Organix kindly sent us some cereals for review, and I jumped at the chance because I knew Emily would love the products. They send us two products, Banana and Plum porridge, and also Multigrain mini cereal puffs. I knew Emily would absolutely love the banana and plum porridge, she has already tried the strawberry and banana porridge, so I knew this would be a massive hit.

Emily loves porridge, she really enjoyed the banana and plum porridge, so much so the bowl was empty! Usually I add a fruit pot into Emily's porridge to give it some more flavour, but this time Emily didn't need it. She ate the whole thing without the added fruit. The organic porridge has a mix of plumb chucks, crispy oats and delicious banana. It is stage 2 porridge which is perfect for when your baby is ready to take the next step. Learning to understand the feeling of texture early on helps your baby tackle more difficult textures later. There are small crispy pieces and tiny plum chunks for them to explore, creating a softly chewable texture. The banana and plum pieces provide all of the taste, meaning I didn't need to add anything extra. Emily loved this porridge so much we added pieces of banana to help her explore more texture.

The other item that Emily was sent was the multigrain mini cereal puffs. Emily wasn't so keen on the cereal, she really enjoys porridge, but the texture of the cereal just did not settle right with her. I have tried it several times, but she just pushes it away. The organic cereal is a mix of rice, corn and wheat puffs. The stage 2 cereal is a good way of taking the next step for you baby. This mini version of the real breakfast cereal has tiny crispy puffs of rice, corn and wheat. This gave Emily the mouth feel of a chunky breakfast but with a soft, easy to chew texture which for some reason just didn't sit well with her.

I love the packaging, it's very appealing when you see it on the shelf of the baby isle. It has a clear picture, and bright colours. Emily preferred the porridge over the mini cereal puffs. She has adjusted to the taste of the texture really well. I love the no junk promise that Organix provide, they are always organic and they never add anything unnecessary. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family. I passed along the multigrain mini cereal puffs to my friend for her little girl due to the fact Emily didn't like them and I don't like creating waste. Emily's friend got on really well with the cereal and enjoyed them with a added little fruit pot.

*I wasn't paid for this post. I received the item for the review purposes. However all opinions are completely my own.*
