Milton Sterilizing Wipes Review

In my opinion Milton are a well known and trusted brand. When I fell pregnant it was one of the brands that I was already knew about, a lot of people think that Milton is just a sterilizing brand for babies, but that really isn't true. They have such a wide range of products, from anti-bacterial hand gel, to portable sterilizers. I was recently asked to review the Milton sterilizing wipes, and of course I said yes, purely because they are one product I use on a regular basis.

Looking To The Future..

So as you may have read in my last post 'blogger struggles' I was having a lot of doubts about what to do next with my blog. I saw the negative side of the blogging community, and it kind of consumed me a little, I was overwhelmed and put off. I started blogging for me, to keep a track of Emily's life, her achievements and our memories as a family. I also blogged a lot about my mental health journey, and when I receive negative comments after putting myself out there so much, it seemed really hard to go forward. The thing is, I want to move past it, and I have some lovely bloggers and friends to thank for that. I have received some lovely messages of support, and I was surprised at the amount of fellow bloggers who have felt the same negativity. While it is absolutely horrible that they have felt that, it is nice to know I am not alone, and that there is nice bloggers out there too.

Blogging Thoughts

Laying in bed at night seems to be where I do most of my thinking, it's strange isn't it. I have been having a little bit of a wobble this week, It does happen every now and then. I now have ways of coping with it when it does, for example when I'm feeling rubbish, and I don't want to do anything or go anywhere I do the exact opposite. I will not let my depression take away anymore of my life or me as a person than it already has. The thing is, I was just laying here and it occurred to me just how far I have come, you never really realize until you look back and my blog has been one of the massive things in my life that has let me look back. I feel like I am never going to miss a moment or forget a milestone with Emily because I document it all here. When I feel like I'm forgetting something I can just look it up. However lately this hasn't been the case for me. There is so many days where I think 'oh forget it, i'm just going to delete my blog'. I then talk myself out of it to be in the same position again in like 3 days.

Wicked Uncle Review

Everyone loves presents right? Emily is a little small for presents but she loves new things, which is kind of the same. I have a couple of friends who have little ones, and I literally dread buying them gifts because I never know what to get for them, or if they have already got it. I'm not a very good gift buyer, but I am a good present wrapper that has to count for something right? We was approached by Wicked Uncle to review there website, I had never heard of them before this, but I absolutely love the concept of the website. The website is really easy to navigate, and has a simple layout. There is gender and age groups separated, which makes it easy to browse and find the perfect gift for the child you are purchasing for. Once you pick your gift, you have the option to gift wrap the present, and also attach a message. You can designate certain presents to certain people, if you are buying for more than one child. This makes the whole process stress free. I will certainly be using the website to purchase gifts nearer to Christmas.

What Emily Wore #18

Emily has moved into 9-12 months size clothing now, I can't believe how big she is getting, anyone would think I feed her miracle grow. She is so tall. I love this outfit, print leggings are my favourite. I especially love these floral ones. This top was reduced in the Tesco sale section to just £2.50. Such a bargain, I took a little picture of the back for you too see as I love the little detail, It flares out making it the perfect top for summer.

Photographs

I just wanted to share some pictures with you, I am forever behind the camera taking pictures of my little family, and I came to realize I am never actually in the picture. I love having pictures hanging on the wall, but what fun is it when your in none of them. These are a few photographs that were taken at our local park by a local photographer. He was absolutely amazing, so paitent with Emily and he got some really good pictures. I love that most of them are really natural, they are not posed, or put on. I was genuinely playing with Emily while he was taking pictures of the rest of the family and he took a snap without me realising, but I am so grateful that he did. I feel like he really captured mine and Emily's relationship and bond in these photographs. These are just a handful of what he took, after all I don't want to bore you.

What's In My Changing Bag?

I always wonder why my bag is so heavy, and now I realise why. I have so much stuff in my bag, and there is a high chance I don't need it all in there, but if I take it out guaranteed I will be looking for it and want it! Typical isn't it?

Weaning Diaries: Snacks with Ella's Kitchen

I find it amazing how fast Emily is growing up. She is becoming more independent, she is crawling, and wants to walk. She is even becoming more fussy with her weaning, she doesn't like to be spoon fed anymore. She wants to do it all by herself, She loves sandwiches and snacks that she can feed herself. Being massive Ella's kitchen fans I jumped at the chance when they offered to send Emily some snacks. She was very excited to receive her box of goodies, the snacks included their new range of baby finger foods. Emily received there 100% organic snacks including the 'grab me' melty puffs, 'grip me' baby biscuits and 'pick me' melty hoops. All of these snacks are designed to not only be tasty and full of goodness, but to also help develop the skills of you little ones. Emily had already tried the melty puffs and loved them so I couldn't wait for her to try the others. Emily has been trying them out for over a week now, and she seems to really love them. As soon as they are put on her plate she quickly goes straight for them.

Emily's 9 Month Update

Yesterday Emily turned 9 months old. Thats right, 9 months in, 9 months out! I can't believe that it has gone this fast.

You can follow us on Instagram to watch Emily grow.

Emily now weighs 18lb 12oz, the health visitor said this is bang on. I'm not at all concerned and I never have been with her weight because she is a little piggy when it comes to food.

Emily has moved into size 5 nappies, because she is quite tall, the size 4 nappies just were not big enough for her. She is in 6-9 clothing, but her leggings are 9-12 as she is so tall!

What Emily Wore #17

Hello, how random has the weather been this week? One minute it was nice, and the next it was throwing it down.

Anxiety & Me

It has dawned on me lately that I'm not coping, I always shrug my bad days off and then crack on with the jobs, or playing with Emily. The day to day things that get you through, but while she was napping today, I had no housework to do, no random little jobs. For once I was just sitting there with my choice of program, (yay no iggle piggle!) and my thoughts. On Sunday night, I though I was over the anxiety of being away from Emily. I ventured out just to the shop which is a 5 minute walk there, and 5 minutes back. So I would be 15 minutes tops, she was with her daddy, and she would be fine right? No that wasn't the case at all. I ended up getting to the shop, with my mind it such a mess because I couldn't cope being away from Emily, What if she needed me, what if she fell and hurt herself, why did I leave her, She's my responsibility I shouldn't have left her with someone else. Now before I get masses of comments telling me she is Sam's responsibility too, I get that, but it isn't that simple. She is my daughter too, I miss her when we are apart. I wanted her for so long that it doesn't feel right to leave her with someone else, I want to be with her all the time, and I'm just not ready to be apart from her. I ended up having a full blown panic attack at the shop. I forgot half of the things I wanted. I ended up walking home in tears, mad at myself for panicking, mad at myself for leaving Emily, and confused.

Fathers Day Gift Guide

Fathers day is approaching fast, it was always very easy for me growing up. Each year we would buy my father the same gift. We weren't very close, so I always brought him a T-shirt that he would wear, sadly it required no thought. This year is Sam's very first fathers day, in my opinion Sam is one of the hardest people to buy a gift for, no matter what you pick he is always grateful, but it is so hard finding the 'perfect' gift. Now that I am a mummy, I want to get Sam the perfect gift from Emily, something that he will love and can treasure forever. Something personal that would mean everything to Sam, a keepsake.

Weaning Diaries: Breakfast with Organix

Weaning with Emily has always been so much fun. Although it didn't start the way I wanted it to. It started a lot earlier than I expected or was prepared to. With Emily constantly screaming in pain due to her reflux, something had to give, we decided to wean Emily early. It was the thing that helped out, it settled her reflux and I have never looked back or doubted that. We started weaning Emily on Organix porridge, something Emily still loves to this day. Organix kindly sent us some cereals for review, and I jumped at the chance because I knew Emily would love the products. They send us two products, Banana and Plum porridge, and also Multigrain mini cereal puffs. I knew Emily would absolutely love the banana and plum porridge, she has already tried the strawberry and banana porridge, so I knew this would be a massive hit.

Bella & Bow Review

With Fathers day approaching fast, I went in search of the perfect gift. I stumbled upon Bella and Bow. I knew it would be the absolutely perfect gift for Sam. Something he can treasure forever. Bella & Bow offer a range of handmade, personalised print jewellery. They use hand and footprints. They can even use paw prints! There is a range to choose from, including necklaces, charms, keyrings and even cufflinks. They are all made from sterling silver.

Love2Read Review

I was contacted by Love2Read to create my own personalised book for Emily, and with fathers day coming up, I knew I had to pick the 'my daddy' book. You can create your book online, add you pictures, and add a little text. There is even space on the back of the front page to add a personalised message. The website is very easy to use and navigate. It took a couple of minutes to create the book. The purpose of love2read is to help children develop a real love for books, and readings. The text in the book is really simple and helps children with word association.

What Emily Wore #16

We have had such a busy week this week. Emily woke up during the night screaming on Wednesday. It was heart wrenching, she always wakes up happy, but maybe she had a bad dream or something. When I went into her room and picked her up, it dawned on me just how big she has got. I can't believe it, she isn't my little baby anymore, she is her own little person. She is so cheeky, happy and she has become fiercely independent! As much as I do miss my little baby, I am loving watching her become her own little person. Emily also learned to bum shuffle/crawl this week, shes been trying for a while but this week she definately mastered it. She can move so fast! I also opened my own little shop this week, it's called 'Rainbows and Ribbons', I would love it if you could take a second to have a look. I'm making handmade personalized bunting, and I am so proud of how it's turning out. Anyway back to Emily's outfit..

Moonsand Sensory Play

As I'm sure you can tell by now, I absolutely love doing crafts with Emily. I think crafts and sensory play are a brilliant way of promoting learning through play and also communication. I will keep doing as many different sensory activities and crafts as I can, well until she gets old enough to tell me not to. I though I would share our fun sensory play from this week with you.

Dermatique Review

As you may already know, Emily has quite bad eczema. It has flared up on her back quite a lot, its really patchy and irritates her a lot. She also has it in other places but I would say her back is the worst. We have recently been trying out the Dermatique recuperating cream, which I have to say actually seems to be working and soothing her skin.

Letters to Emily

Dear Emily,

As your mummy there are some things that I want for you, a few wishes that both me and daddy have for you. I want you to know how much you mean to us, and that we will always be there for you, no matter what direction life may take you in.

OXO Tot Review

Recently the lovely people at OXO tot send us a few products from their baby and toddler range to review. Emily has been testing them out and using them daily for nearly 2 weeks now. I previously wrote a OXO tot review here, and loved the things so much, I got more. As I mentioned in my previous review, I love the packaging, It has perforated edges. I previously forgot to take a photograph of this, so I made sure I took one this time around. See the little tab, you simply pull that and it opens really easily. No messing about or fighting with the packaging!
