Our bank holiday weekend

You may have noticed that I took a little break over the weekend. I completely shut off my phone, I didn't use social media all weekend, I didn't blog all weekend and to tell you the truth, as much as I missed it, it was bliss! I started blogging purely for a hobby, and that is still why I do it, but there is so much going on in the blogging community that sometimes it can get a little overwhelming! Don't get me wrong I absolutely love blogging, but sometimes it gets a little addictive, and I don't want to miss a moment of Emily's childhood, which is of course the reason I started this blog, to document it all. I thought I would share with you a little of what we were up to this bank holiday weekend.

It's been such a sunny and lovely weekend, It was even better because Sam was off due to bank holiday, so we had a lovely 3 day weekend! We attended my cousins wedding on Saturday, Emily looked beautiful in her little pink princess dress, which by the way was from Asda, George collection. My cousin kindly put a little basket filled with milky buttons for Emily as she couldn't have the hard boiled sweets which I thought was a lovely touch. My cousin looked beautiful in her dress and the whole thing just made me more excited for when me and Sam get married. On Sunday we visited Sam's side of the family, we had a lovely relaxing day and dinner with them. Emily loves playing with her uncle Jack when we visit, so she has a blast.

On Monday we went to our local country park, it was really nice to spend time as a family of 3. Normally we are so busy doing things with other people that we don't really spend much time just the 3 of us. As lovely as it is to visit family, I think we forget that we are a family of 3 ourselves, and it is important that we make the most of our time together too. So I will definitely be making more of a effort. We walked around the massive lake, I was going to make a picnic, but we decided against it. Emily had a late breakfast due to her sleeping in, and it would be too early for her lunch. We did have a ice cream though, I had a vanilla one which I shared with Emily. It was Emily's first ice cream, and she really enjoyed trying to bite little bits out of it. She then gave herself brain freeze. We then headed to the park, and Emily had a lovely time on the swings. Sam doesn't usually get to take her to the park, because he is at work a lot, so it was nice watching them have that time together, and they both really enjoyed it.

I also have a little bit of exciting news. We have become Childs Farm brand ambassadors, and I am absolutely thrilled. Due to Emily's eczema flaring up quite a lot at the moment, especially with the nicer weather making it's way, she usually has boring baths. We can't use bath products like Johnsons, or other big brands. We have been using a E45 oil based bath wash. Which does the job, but there is no bubbles, or nice fragrance, and it leaves a greasy mark all the way around the bath. I tried Child's Farm, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Emily's skin didn't flare up, in fact if anything it was more moisturized and soft. It also smells so good. The shampoo is my favourite fragrance. Strawberry and mint, it does sound a little bit of a strange combination but let me tell you it is amazing.
